No Heat Troubleshooting

Prior to 1995

  1. Unplug the spa (110v), or turn the breakers off (220v).
  2. REMOVE the filters from the spa and do not return them to spa until the water is heated.
  3. Remove any debris from the filter compartment.
  4. Open the equipment compartment door.
  5. Reset the heater hi limit and spa hi limit located on the left side of the control box.
  6. Close the equipment compartment door.
  7. Plug the spa in (110v), or turn both breakers on (220v).
  8. Check the spa for heat after 24 hours (110v) or 12 hours (220v).

If the spa is still not heating service is required – call 301-607-4670 between 8am and 4pm M-F or email spaservice@hotspringdc.com

1995 to Current

Please identify your spa’s heater (located in the motor compartment) in the following pictures to determine which trouble shooting process to follow.

If your heater HAS a reset button, follow these instructions:

  1. Unplug the spa (110v), or turn off both breakers (220v).
  2. REMOVE the filters from the spa and do not return them to spa until water has heated.
  3. Remove any debris from the filter compartment.
  4. Open the equipment compartment.
  5. Reset the Heating Element (refer to diagram of heater to locate reset button). Be sure to use something other than your finger to reset the button (a Philips head screwdriver, spa door screw or golf tee are suggested.)
  6. Close the equipment compartment door.
  7. Plug the spa in (110v), or turn both breakers on (220v).
  8. Check the spa for heat after 24 hours (110v) or 12 hours (220v).
  9. If the spa is still not heating, service is required.
